- 요약This dissertation studies questions in public and labor economics that relate to public program design and inequality. The specific topics include family income response to incentives created by means-testing in college financial aid; the impact of a local preference policy in college admissions on total college enrollment and its effectiveness at improving equity in college access; and the long run effects of exposure to labor demand shocks in childhood. In total, the chapters of this dissertation provide insights for public policy design especially as relates to education policies and to inequality.
