- 요약Poetic gifting, a term coined here, is the process of sharing creative scholarship in an impactful and wide-reaching way. This dissertation project is a poetic gift, and a model for creative scholars who want to work in the academy and alongside communities and non-academic groups simultaneously. As a community-engaged teaching artist and poet, I aim to ensure that my work "takes the shape" of the scholar. As such, this hybrid project features works of poetry, visual art, QR codes that link to videos, and a concluding essay at the end. I have drawn on my experiences as an educator, artist, and global citizen to craft what you will experience here. This is a new model for ways that scholarship is generated and disseminated. My hope is that this project provides a vision for fruitful collaborations between creative scholars and the communities that matter to us and sustain us.
